Thanksgiving Class Party

Finally catching up on posts.

As the room mom for Elliot's class, I am able to be at all her class parties. But that means I also have to plan then. I try to keep them simple, yet fun. I think they had a good time.

Now to get ready for Christmas!

Celebrations

We had several family birthdays this week. For Joe's Birthday dinner I made this pork chop dinner.
Recipe is from Katie at Minivan Diva We changed it up a bit. We didn't have potatoes so we had it with rice instead.
The hubs isn't a big fan of cake, so I make strawberry filled with cheesecake. They were really good. I'll be making them again.

Finally:

Happy Verterin's Day to all the men, women, and families that have sacrificed for my freedom.

Thanks Joe!!

Bribes

Joe and his friend went camping this weekend for their birthday. Elliot and I decided to have a little camping trip of our own, girl style:
That's right, I pulled out the air matress and set us up in the living room. She has the TV on and iPod in hand. And I have heat, indoor plimbing, and a bedroom to sneek into after she falls alseep.

After getting ready for church Sunday morning, I tried to get a few pictures of Elliot. She is the Star Student this week and I wanted to recent shot of her that didn't look like

This was what we started out with:

After a little bit of this:
We ended up with this:

I'm not above a little bribe. You gotta do what you gotta do, my friends.

love,

Taking the Plunge

As I started putting together this blog, my goals and expectations began to expand. I want my daughter to have a scrapbook of our life and I want my out-of-state friends and family to have a snapshot of our life. Most importantly, I want to learn from and share the triumphs and struggles of motherhood, my faith, and my life.

Thanks for stopping by,

Melissa
